“Theater workshop Escape from disaster!!”

FaiFai, 2012

Workshop on conducting escape drills In terms of the institution's roles in relation to community education through drama theory, it is to provide advice on the practice following the disaster.

This time, FaiFai's workshop included more than just delivering an enjoyable program like Rakuko and bringing a story with a humorous plot. Instead, it uses the novel and the narrative framework, which has an impact on actual life, to experiment with interpersonal relationships. Such performances are not just found in theaters, but also occur when people from outside the community work together to develop occupations that encourage contact with society. In other words, it involves the production of community art in accordance with the performing process in order to forge a bond between the educational establishment, the community, and the potential for using art to ameliorate the situation following a tragedy.

Disasters like earthquakes, tsunamis, bombings, political upheavals, and different acts of terrorism have occurred in Asia. Thailand gets inundated at the end of 2011, and prior to that, Japan experienced a significant earthquake.

What were the results of those effects? Therefore, the concept of restoration and the use of art to explore the possibility of revival was born. This idea targets local talent boundaries with a workshop method, and performing arts is a tool to explore; it does not, however, operate at the level of government agencies or at the level of research.

In order to deal with this disaster, we realized the significance of educational organizations that play a part in the community and the need for residents to be aware of the driving situation following the disaster. This workshop will actually function by designating the school to serve as the community's hub. It also emphasizes on young people's crisis management skills and the future of society through communication from the program to encourage imagination in imagining how different catastrophic situations would be handled when they arise.
