Community Art

Despite being in Bangkok, the country's major city, some minor settlements are ignored. housing that is overcrowded and surrounded by rubbish. Although the method used by the government to solve issues is accessible, it is not long-lasting. Children are still mistreated, drugs are just as accessible to purchase as paracetamol, sex education targets children directly, families are disintegrating, and many are trying to make ends meet. These are significant motivating factors that are making everyone in the community's problems worse.

There is no way out, and the community's life is repeated in a discouraging circle. We therefore decided to create a better cycle for people in the community to tell about the existence of the community by using art because it is highly advised to do so when this community is experiencing such severe problems and art is said to be like a magic pill that can cure all kinds of diseases. More significantly, the creative approach is represented in the current issues that all sectors seek to be solved.

This project is an art-led activity involving individuals and communities, therefore a variety of artistic activities with visual arts as the primary focus characterize the work process.

We identified three core activities and associated auxiliary activities for each. This additional activity is planned ahead of time, and any information or challenges to the activities during that time are implemented. The events will take place each Sunday in September through November 2008.
